Baked apples with marzipan

Baked apples with marzipan

Taste and smell a cozy winter with oven-baked apples with delicious toppings.

Ingredients
6 apples
500g plain yogurt
60g marzipan
20 halves of walnut
6 tablespoons apple juice
5 teaspoons maple syrup
3 tablespoons white wine (can substitute with apple juice)
1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar

Wash the apples, pat dry, and core them whole, best done with a corer but can be done with a small sharp knife. Place the apples in a rimmed baking dish.
Roughly chop the walnut halves, cut the marzipan into pieces, and place both inside the apples in layers. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon sugar. Mix apple juice and white wine (or use only apple juice) and baste the apples with it. Bake at 180 C for 40 mins. Chop the other nuts and stir into the yogurt. Add some maple syrup and cinnamon to taste. Serve the apples warm with the yogurt sauce.
